Hub4Stuff is celebrating today after being awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

We will use its funding to support our mission to give furniture a second chance with the grant helping towards the costs in collection furniture from generous donations and delivering to those in need. There is also funding to expand our upcycling activities to more people.

This new National Lottery funding comes at an important time for Hub4Stuff which mainly operates in the Gosport and Fareham areas. Since setting up in April it has saved more than six tonnes of furniture from ending up in landfill – instead using the furniture to help local people out of furniture poverty.

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

Alyson Marlow, one of the founders of Hub4Stuff said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can continue the work we started earlier this year. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.”

During the pandemic, in 2020 alone, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and community organisations across the UK.
